Cathryn Damon (September 11, 1930 - May 4, 1987) was an American actress, best known for her roles on television sitcoms in the 1970s and 1980s.
She moved to New York City at sixteen to pursue ballet dancing. She became a Broadway and off-Broadway actress, but found her fame on television. She played middle-class Mary Campbell on Soap from 1977 until 1981, followed by a role on Webster, playing Cassie Parker from 1984 until 1986.
She won an Emmy Award for her role as Mary Campbell on Soap in 1980, but could not appear in person to receive the Award due to an actors' strike (which her former co-star Richard Mulligan actually referred to when he received his own Emmy more than a decade later for his role as Dr. Weston on the television series Empty Nest).
