Terrence Mann (born Terrance Vaughan Mann on July 1, 1951 in Kentucky) is a prominent singer and actor who has dominated Broadway's stages for the past two decades.
Terrence made his Broadway debut in early 1982 in the Tony Award-winning show Barnum, music by renowned Broadway writer Cy Coleman, at the St. James Theatre. He played the supporting role of Chester Lyman. However, Terrence made his true break-through performance by starring in the original cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats. Terrence created the memorable lead role of the "playful" cat Rum Tum Tugger. Soon after leaving Cats, Terrence again created one of Broadway's most sought after roles even til today. Terrence was among the Original Broadway Cast of Europe's famed musical, Les Misérables. He played the role of the stoic Javert. His role as Javert earned him his first Tony Award nomination for Tony Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
Terrence earned his second Tony Award nomination with his role in Disney's Beauty and the Beast by playing the role of the Beast. Terrence continued to receive accolades, especially with his creating-role as Chauvelin in the prominent Frank Wildhorn musical The Scarlet Pimpernel. His deep baritone voice helped bring the musical to fame.
