Don Coscarelli (born February 17, 1954) is an American (though he was born in Libya, he was raised in Southern California) film director and screenwriter best known for horror films. Credits include the Phantasm series, Beastmaster, and Bubba Ho-Tep. He directed the first instalment of the American TV series Masters of Horror called "Incident On and Off a Mountain Road" which was based on a short story by Joe R. Lansdale. Coscarelli is currently working on Bubba Nosferatu, a sequel to Bubba Ho-Tep, which is also written by Joe R. Lansdale. He co-directed his first movie Jim, The World's Greatest at the age of nineteen with Craig Mitchell. Phantasm his was first collaboration with longtime partner Lawrence Roy Guy, who would later be better known as Angus Scrimm.
