Steven Vincent Buscemi (born December 13, 1957) is an American film and stage character actor based in New York City.
Early life
Buscemi was born in Brooklyn, New York to John Buscemi, an Italian American Korean War veteran, and an Irish American mother. He was a New York City firefighter from 1980 to 1984. He graduated from Valley Stream Central High School in 1976. In 1978, after a two year break from schooling he decided to attend Boston's acclaimed, Berklee College of Music, where he studied in vocal performance. He completed three semesters, and started to look for auditions around his neighborhood.
Career
His first lead role was opposite Richard Ganoug in Parting Glances (1986). He is an associate member of the experimental theater company The Wooster Group. More on [ Steve Buscemi ]
