Sass Jordan (born 23 December 1962 in Birmingham, West Midlands, England) is a Canadian rock singer/songwriter who grew up in Montreal (and is considered her hometown) with a Juno award under her belt.
Initially known as a backup singer for Montreal-based band The Box, her debut album Tell Somebody was released in 1988 and included the Canadian hits "Double Trouble", "Tell Somebody" "Stranger Than Paradise" and "So Hard". After winning a Juno Award for Most Promising Female Vocalist of the Year in 1989, she went on to sing a duet with Joe Cocker, "Trust In Me", for the movie The Bodyguard in 1992. While her debut was a pop oriented album, her follow up "Racine" was more pop/rock oriented and featured a popular Canadian hit with "Make You A Believer". Her third album "Rats", released in 1994 was plain raw rock. She collaborated with godfather of P-funk George Clinton on a track off this album called "Ugly".
Jordan went on a few tours, including one as an opening act to veteran Journey vocalist Steve Perry in 1994.
