Daddy Day Care is a 2003 comedy film written by Geoff Rodkey and directed by Steve Carr which tells the story of an unemployed father who convinces his male friends to help him to start a day care center. It stars Eddie Murphy (Charlie Hogan, the main charcter and the man who runs the Daddy Day Care center), Jeff Garlin (Charlie's main assistant Phil), Steve Zahn (Charlie's other assistant Marvin, who is a big Star Trek fan), Regina King (Charlie's wife, Kim), Kevin Nealon (Bruce, a man who works with Charlie in marketing), Anjelica Huston (Ms. Chapman, the head of a rival day care center called "Chapman Academy") and Elle Fanning (Jamie, one of the day care kids).
One child speaks only in Klingon. Another child, Tony (played by Jimmy Bennett), believes he is the superhero The Flash and refuses to take off his costume.
The movie was generally panned by critics, but due to its family-friendly image, it managed to gross over $100 million at the U.S. box-office and profited from its considerable $60 million budget.
