Bright Young Things is a 2003 movie directed by Stephen Fry; the film represents the directorial debut for the British actor and presenter. It is an adaptation of the satirical 1930 novel Vile Bodies, written by Evelyn Waugh.
Compared to other period films, Bright Young Things is relatively fast-paced, due to the film focusing on fame and the frenzy of the media.
The central plot is a romance story, but the film provides social commentary on younger people in the 1930s, as well as society in general. This was Stephen Campbell Moore's first movie, he played the lead role of Adam.
