Family Compo is a comedy manga by Tsukasa Hojo about a somewhat strange mangaka's family and the boy that they adopt.

The Story

Yamagiba Masahiko's mother passed away while he was in kindergarten, his father was regularly away on business so Masahiko often spent his time alone longing for a family like those he had seen on TV. A month after his father has died in a traffic accident, a relative comes to his door who Masahiko mistakes for his mother, but tells him that he is mistaken that she is his aunt, Wakanae Yukari his mothers little brother's wife. A brother that his mother had broken all ties with. Yukari wants him to come and live her family as Masahiko goes to the university.

Yukari invites him to come that night to meet the family before he decides. He meets the daughter Shion on the way and mistakes her for a neighbour and starts to ask questions about the Wakanae family because he is worried why his mother had broken ties with her brother. When they arrive at the house he meets his Uncle Sora and discovers that the girl directing him is really his cousin and today is her 16th birthday, the family will be having a party together. This is something that Masahiko has always desired as his father left a present for him but never celebrated his birthday with him. His worries that the Wakanae are yakuza seem dispelled by the warm home atmosphere, yet still he wonders why his mother disowned her brother Sora who seems to be a kind and good natured husband and father.
